See how your local business stacks up against the competitors around you

Give your business name, what it is and the city. Get the nearest competitors on Google Maps with distance, rating and reviews, what each homepage leads with, who takes online bookings, and a brief with three positioning angles and three quick wins.

Smile Haus Austin: 4.9 stars, the same as the median of its 15 nearest competitors, but 340 reviews against a median of 735; 13 of 15 have more. 11 of 15 take online bookings. Neighborhood homepages lead with insurance (12), same-day or emergency care (10) and financing (7); only 4 mention evenings or weekends, which Smile Haus already offers, so that became its first positioning angle.

Build it step by step

1

Find the competitors on Google Maps

Four searches (the category, best, top rated and near your business), merged without duplicates. Each place comes with rating, review count, website and coordinates.

    "query": "dentist",

2

Measure distances

Distances are computed in code from the Maps coordinates; the free geocoder is only a fallback for places without them. Other locations of your own business are left out.

3

Read each homepage

Title and first headline, whether it takes online bookings, and which offers it mentions: insurance, financing, membership, same-day care, evenings or weekends and more. Pages that block the reader are retried with firecrawl.scrape, then marked unknown.

Write the brief

Medians and counts are computed in code and passed to the model unchanged; it writes where you stand, what the neighborhood competes on, three angles and three quick wins.

Before you build

Where does the data come from?

Google Maps listings (rating, review count, website, location) and each competitor's public homepage. The brief only uses what is in that data.

Does it read the reviews themselves?

No. Google Maps results carry counts and ratings, not review text, so the brief does not claim what reviewers say.

Which businesses does it work for?

Any local business people find on Google Maps: dentists, med spas, gyms, salons, restaurants, plumbers, law firms. Use the search a customer would type as the category.
