Web search API for AI agents
One key gives your agent Google results through Serper, Exa's embedding-based search and Tavily, all with the same input (query, number of results, country, language) and the same output: ranked results with title, URL and snippet. Pick one, or run them side by side and keep the best answer. Failed searches are free.

Frequently asked questions
Which web search API is cheapest?
Serper (Google results) at $0.0013 per search. Tavily is $0.0104. Exa is priced per request from $0.0065; a 5-result search on 2026-10-08 was charged $0.00805. Failed searches are not charged.
Which is fastest?
On 2026-10-08, the same query through all three took 630 ms on Exa, 822 ms on Serper and 1,848 ms on Tavily. That is one run; the compare page shows each provider's 30-day average.
Do they return the same results?
Not exactly. For "Model Context Protocol specification" all three ranked the official spec page first. Serper returns Google's organic results, Exa leaned to pages inside the official docs, and Tavily included more blog guides further down.
Can I compare them on my own query?
Yes. POST /v1/compare with the category search.web runs several providers on the same input and charges each at its own price; that three-provider comparison cost $0.01975 in total. The compare page does the same from the browser.
How does my AI agent use it?
Add the Superpowers MCP server to Claude, Cursor, Codex or ChatGPT, or call POST /v1/run with a tool such as serper.google-search. New accounts get $5 of credit, enough for about 3,800 Serper searches.
