Sanctions screening API for OFAC and UN lists
Check a person, company, vessel or aircraft name against the US OFAC SDN list (with aliases) and the UN Security Council consolidated list. Fuzzy matching tolerates accents, word order and spelling variants, and every match comes back with its score, programs and list reference. Free, from the API or your AI agent.

}Frequently asked questions
Which lists are checked?
The US Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list, with aliases, and the UN Security Council consolidated list. EU, UK and other national lists are not included.
Is a match a final answer?
No. A match is a potential match for a human to review against the entry's identifiers, such as country and date of birth. Treat the result as screening input, not a compliance decision.
How does fuzzy matching work?
Names are normalized for accents, case and word order, then compared with a similarity score. The default threshold is 0.88; you can lower it to 0.7 for looser matching or raise it to 1 for exact names.
Does it cost anything?
No. Sanctions screening is free. You need an account for an API key, and the $5 welcome credit is there for the paid tools.
Can my AI agent use it?
Yes. Add the Superpowers MCP server and your agent can screen names on its own, for example while onboarding a customer or a supplier.
