Frequently asked questions
Which coins can I ask for?
Any coin by its CoinGecko id (the one in the coin's CoinGecko URL, such as bitcoin, ethereum, solana or usd-coin), up to 20 per call.
What happens with a wrong id?
It is left out of the answer without an error. In the call above, a made-up id was skipped while the other four came back, so compare what you asked for with what you got.
How fresh are the prices?
Each price carries the timestamp it was taken at. In the call above, all four were priced the same minute the call was made.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Price lookups are free. You need an account for an API key, and the $5 welcome credit is there for the paid tools.
Can my AI agent use it?
Yes. Add the Superpowers MCP server to Claude, Cursor, Codex or ChatGPT and ask in plain words, or call POST /v1/run with the tool defillama.crypto-prices.
