# Startups that just raised and are hiring
A Superpowers recipe. Pick a place, an industry, the rounds and (optionally) the roles you recruit for. It lists the startups that announced that round in the last days (amount, date, city, the news link), reads the job postings each one has up (closed postings dropped, repeats merged, newest first, each with its date and link), and for each startup that is hiring, names the founder from news and profiles and looks for their verified work email. Measured on Oct 13, 2026: US$1.51 for 9 US software startups (5 hiring, 22 job postings, 4 verified founder emails), under a minute. Charged to the user's Superpowers balance; tell the user the cost before you run it.
Needs a Superpowers API key. If you don't have one yet, set it up first: https://superpowers.tools/skill.md?ref=
## Inputs
- **location** (default United States): city, state or country in plain words.
- **industry** (default software): plain words (fintech, healthcare, artificial intelligence).
- **stages** (default seed, series-a): pre-seed, seed, series-a, series-b, series-c, separated by commas. The funding data files pre-seed and seed extensions under seed.
- **roles** (default empty = every role): words to look for in job titles, separated by commas (engineer, sales, design).
- **days** (default 2): round announced in the last N days, 1 to 30. Use 1 for a daily brief.
- **companies** (default 9): 3, 6 or 9.
Ask for anything missing. Mention the cost before the first run (about US$0.15 to US$0.20 per startup).
## Run it: let Superpowers do it
curl -s -m 30 -X POST "https://superpowers.tools/v1/recipes/funded-startups-hiring/run" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUPERPOWERS_API_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"inputs": {"location": "United States", "industry": "software", "stages": "seed, series-a", "roles": "", "days": "1", "companies": "9"}, "idempotency_key": "funded-hiring-20261013-0800"}' > result.json
Each request returns within about 30 seconds with either the result or {"status": "running", "idempotency_key": "...", "retry_after_s": 20}. Send the identical request again with that idempotency_key until it stops answering running; you are charged once. Make the key unique for each new run (letters, digits and - _ . : / only). If the answer is 402, the balance is too low: tell the user and stop. With MCP, call run_recipe with {"recipe": "funded-startups-hiring", "inputs": {...}, "idempotency_key": "..."}.
Run it once: if a request times out, resend it with the same idempotency_key; never pick a new key for the same brief and never mix in manual lookups. Keep the API key in the SUPERPOWERS_API_KEY environment variable; never write it into a file.
The finished answer has share_id, share_url, charge_usd and steps. Read the result with GET https://superpowers.tools/v1/shares/<share_id> (same Authorization header): the first item is the summary, then one card per hiring startup (round, amount, date, job postings, who to write to) followed by cards for its newest postings, then the startups with no postings found.
## Every morning
If you can schedule tasks, offer to run it every weekday at the hour the user picks with days set to 1, and send the share_url each morning. Use a new idempotency_key per day (for example funded-hiring-<date>).
## Doing it step by step
Only when the request above answers an error other than running or 402, and never in addition to it. Each call is POST https://superpowers.tools/v1/run with {"tool": "<tool>", "input": {...}, "idempotency_key": "<unique for that call>"}; report the sum of charge_usd of every call.
1. fundable.funded-companies with {"location": "...", "industry": "...", "stages": ["seed", "series-a"], "days": 1, "limit": 3, "page": 0}; then page 1 and 2 for 9 startups.
2. Skip startups whose size is over 1,000 people. For each other startup, jobboards.company-jobs with {"company": "<domain>", "newest": 100} (free; reads its Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable or SmartRecruiters board). When it finds no board, predictleads.company-signals with {"domain": "<domain>", "signal": "jobs", "limit": 50}. Drop postings whose status is closed and repeated titles; keep the newest first. tracking_started true means the company is new to the job data: say "check again tomorrow".
3. For each startup with postings, linkup.search with {"query": "<company> <domain> founder CEO", "max_results": 8}, and if no one is named, again with {"query": "<company> CEO co-founder"}. Pick a person only from sentences that name them as founder or CEO of this company, not of a customer quoted on its site; keep the sentence and link.
4. superpowers.find-email with {"name": "<founder>", "domain": "<domain>"}. Use email only. When it returns only possible_email (a first-name address like guy@), fullenrich.find-email with {"first_name": "...", "last_name": "...", "domain": "<domain>"}; the address counts as verified only when FullEnrich gives the same one. Never guess one.
## After the run
Give the user the share_url and the hiring startups as the share lists them: round, amount, date, how many job postings and the newest ones with their dates, and who to write to. Say that postings stay listed until someone marks them closed, so older ones may already be filled, and that names come from public pages and should be checked before writing. If the user wants a first line for each founder, write it yourself from the round and one role the user can fill. Remind them to follow anti-spam rules for their country.
